For my practice Picasso's Revenge, I took pictures of a fire hydrant outside of the school. It's not very exciting but I just needed pictures to practice with. The actual picture taking didn't take very long, the editing did though. Trying to get all of the layers correct and all the pictures in the right place was very difficult and frustrating. Seeing the final piece come together was a great feeling. I am now prepared and know what to do for my final piece.

It's that time of year again. The time of year when all the plants start to bloom and cherry blossom trees are bloomed!

This was my favourite picture out of all the ones I took. I used the rule of thirds to place the branch. Then I used focused in on it and turned everything else black and white. This technique helps the viewer focus on the subject of the picture as opposed to getting distracted by the background.

This week's challenge spanned over two weeks. The theme was Action/Fairytale/Whimsical/Surreal Photos.
For this photo I used depth perception to make the illusion of a small person popping out of the book.
After a long time of trying to get the right angle, this picture was produced.
I thank the two people in this photo for sticking up with all my craziness :)

A pattern is a repeated design. Without noticing, we go around the world not actually seeing all the patterns we have around us.
Such as articles of clothing, fabrics and other materials.
If you think about it, everything is a pattern. Sweatshirts have a repeating pattern if you look close enough. You can see the lines of the material continuing throughout the sweater.
For this project I chose the more obvious patterns people see. Not the hidden or unnoticed ones. I liked this pattern because the embroidery is very pretty and very festive.

Instead of doing Texture photos, I was able to take photos of the Cupcake War the pastry classes were doing.
The cupcakes looked very professional and the photos turned out really nicely.
My favourite part about this photo is that you can already taste the soft banana and chocolate icing just by looking it.
I would have liked the background to be different (not all white!) but it makes the cupcakes stand out.
This challenge was lots of fun to do and might I mention that the cupcakes were delicious :)

Lines that lead...
Until this challenge, I had never realized how much lines come into our lives. They are everywhere!
I really like this picture because the wave of words really guides you into the picture and wants to keep going on forever.
With a little editing, I was able to brighten and enhance the colours to make them stand out.

BOO! :)
Halloween is a time of year that is fun for everyone! You can be someone completely different from your normal self.
I like the lighting in this picture, it gives off a very dark and eerie mood.

Editing this photo, I was able to darken the background in order to really bring out the dim lighting the candle gives off
Happy Halloween!

Taking this weeks photos opened my eyes. It showed me how other organisms see the world.
For example, the worm's eye photos made me think of how life would be if I was that small.
Everything would seem excessively big.

This photo uses the concept of being a worm and also shows leading lines. The leaves and flowers are very bright in contrast to the grey and dull sky.

This photo challenge was to capture the change of seasons between fall and winter.
The leaves on this tree are turning from green to red and orange. In the background you can also see some other trees that have already turned yellow.

Using contrast and sharpening the photo helps make the different colours stand out against the cloudy and grey sky.

Looking for the different aspects of fall turning into winter was surprisingly easy. Since then, I now see the real beauty of changing seasons and take more time to stop and admire my surroundings.
